IELTS in Pakistan 2026: Dates, Fees, and Registration

The British Council price table effective from 9 June 2026 lists IELTS Academic and General Training on computer at PKR 75,600 in Islamabad, Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Mirpur. The listed fee is PKR 76,240 in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum and Gujrat.

IELTS for UKVI Academic or General Training on computer is listed at PKR 72,000, while IELTS for UKVI Life Skills A1 or B1 is PKR 50,000. These figures are a planning reference, not a replacement for checkout. Provider, location, payment method and applicable bank charges can affect the amount you finally pay, so review the official booking summary before completing payment.

Pakistan does not have one static list that tells every candidate which seats are still available. Your real options depend on the city, provider, test type and remaining capacity. Use the British Council location selector or the IDP Pakistan test-date finder, then enter the same choices you plan to book.

Computer sessions run on more days throughout the week, but availability still changes. British Council lists computer testing in cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Quetta and several regional centres. A city appearing on the general list does not guarantee a seat on your preferred day.

Begin with an official British Council or IDP Pakistan page. Choose the correct test, city and session; enter your personal details exactly as they appear on the identification document you will use; then check the test type, venue, date and total fee before payment.

British Council asks candidates to have a valid passport or national identity card available during registration. After paying, keep the confirmation email and reference number. Check the full message rather than assuming the main test date covers every appointment, because your Speaking slot can have its own time.

Academic and General Training serve different purposes. A university course usually asks for Academic, while some migration, work or training routes may use General Training. UK visa applications can require IELTS for UKVI or Life Skills, depending on the route.

Do not choose only by price or the next available date. Read the requirement from the university, employer, professional body or visa authority and match its exact test name. A result from the wrong IELTS product may not satisfy the application.

British Council says IELTS on Paper in Pakistan is currently limited to candidates who receive approved medical special consideration. For general booking, the practical route is therefore IELTS on computer at a test centre.

Computer testing does not mean taking IELTS at home. You still attend an official centre for the test. British Council says computer results are typically available in one to five days, but your application plan should still allow time for score delivery and an unexpected retake.

One Skill Retake can let an eligible computer-test candidate repeat Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking once instead of retaking the full exam. British Council Pakistan also lists it for eligible IELTS for UKVI computer tests.

The retake must be completed within 60 days of the original test, and the original test centre must offer the service. Acceptance is determined by the organisation receiving your score, so check that organisation’s policy before relying on One Skill Retake as your only backup.

Start with the date by which your university, visa route or professional body must receive the result. Work backwards to allow for the result window, score submission, travel to the centre and a possible retake. The nearest available session is not necessarily the safest choice.
