IRCC accepts IELTS General Training for Express Entry. Federal Skilled Worker requires CLB 7 in all four abilities; Canadian Experience Class uses CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3.
PGWP
Most PGWP applicants applying on or after 1 November 2024 need language proof. University programs generally require CLB 7, while college, polytechnic and non-university programs generally require CLB 5.
Study permit
IRCC's regular study-permit eligibility page does not set one universal IELTS band. Your school can still have its own admission-language requirement.
